Milano Design Week 2026 returns from April 20-26, with the Salone del Mobile.Milano in Rho from April 21-26 and its most relevant parallel events of this edition: the Fuorisalone, in addition to the return of EuroCucina / FTK ( Technology For the Kitchen) and the Salone Internazionale del Bagno.
Under the motto Be the Project, Fuorisalone 2026 proposes to read design as an open process, in transformation, rather than as a closed result. Regarding the 2025 issue, Mondi Connessi, focused on the connections between technology, cultures and participation, this edition seems to be moving towards a more material and more conscious look: less fascination with the connection in the abstract and more attention to how it is projected, with what it is built and what relationships the design activates. From Connections By Finsa, we share our six must-sees from Milano Design Week 2026.
glo™ x Numero Chromatico, at Palazzo Moscova
Y.O.U. Your Own Universe once again places Brera among the stops with the greatest visual appeal. The glo™ installation alongside Numero Cromatico is presented as an immersive and interactive environment in which art, space and new intelligences enter into dialogue with the visitor. It’s a good entry point to the week because it encapsulates one of the driving forces of 2026: design as a shared experience.

Serotonin, by Sara Ricciardi for American Express
At the Pinacoteca di Brera, Sara Ricciardi created one of the most atmospheric installations of the edition for American Express. Serotonin – the chemistry of happiness converts the loggiato in an immersive landscape of moving inflatable elements, where emotion is translated into spatial language. More than a technological piece, it serves as a reminder of another strong theme of the fair: design understood as a modulator of well-being.
Ten years of Isola Design Festival
The tenth edition of Isola Design Festival is structured under the title TEN: The Evolving Now, and it reinforces its role as a district particularly attentive to material experimentation. Factory Sassetti is once again the heart of the tour, while Stecca3 hosts part of a programme focused on innovation, circularity and new collaborations. If there is one place to read where the conversation about materials and emerging design is heading today, it is still Isola.

Mogu en Fòco, Living Notes
On Via Tortona 31, Studiopepe signs for Archiproducts Milano Fòco, Living Notes, a project that interprets fire as generative energy. Within this warm and sensory setting, Mogu’s presence is especially interesting due to its contribution of biomaterials, from mycelium acoustic panels to paving solutions. It is one of those proposals where sustainability, tactility and spatial narrative cease to be separate.

Samsung, Design is an Act of Love
Among the most clearly innovative proposals, Samsung presents at Superstudio + Design is an Act of Love, an exhibition that explores the human side of technology through prototypes and products. The Open Lab format reveals an interesting change in tone, as technology ceases to be a spectacular novelty and becomes an everyday, emotional, and domestic experience. In an edition marked by EuroCucina and AI applied to living, this stop fits in naturally.

Alcova and the opening of Villa Pestarini
The sixth stop introduces another temporality. Alcova 2026 is once again one of the most anticipated events of the week, but this time it adds a particularly significant gesture… The activation for the first time of Villa Pestarini, the residence designed by Franco Albini. In a Design Week dominated by ephemeral installations, Alcova reminds us that the future of design also involves reinterpreting modern heritage, activating existing architecture, and putting the project in conversation with the city’s material memory.

Design as process, material and use is the leitmotif of Milano Design Week 2026. Between smart kitchens, biomaterials, immersive installations and revitalised heritage, Milan is fine-tuning a visible evolution towards 2025; from connected worlds to design as a conscious practice.
