The quality of a space depends not only on what you see, but also on how you hear it. In the Vöhringer space, designed for celebrations and gatherings, the main challenge was its acoustic behaviour. Materials such as glass, stone, or clinker brick provided visual character, but generated a high reverberation that hindered communication between attendees.
The initial data highlighted the problem: the average reverberation time reached 2.77 seconds, directly affecting people’s ability to converse and hear each other. Even in small meetings, starting with three individuals, maintaining a clear conversation proved difficult. The intervention was intended to improve this aspect without altering the identity.
Selador, a company that provides acoustic solutions, proposed a response based on analysis and precision. The process began with a technical visit to take acoustic measurements, document the environment, and gather the client’s needs. With this information, and using specialised software, a configuration was defined that could generate a more natural and comfortable acoustic.

Integrated acoustic intervention
The proposal was implemented through the integration of acoustic elements in the walls and ceiling. On the vertical surfaces, absorbent solutions designed to reduce sound reflection were installed, while on the ceiling, pieces were incorporated that combine acoustic functionality with lighting and formal presence. The arrangement of each element was carefully planned to ensure its effectiveness and visual consistency.
The result demonstrates a clear improvement, as the reverberation time was reduced to 1.87 seconds, allowing for smooth communication even in more active situations. Furthermore, the space maintains a suitable balance when empty, avoiding an excessively muffled acoustic sensation.
To complete the intervention, the exact location of each element was defined after calculating the optimal configuration with acoustic simulation tools, guaranteeing a homogeneous response throughout the room and aligned with the client’s expectations and the intended use of the space.

This project highlights the role of acoustic conditioning as an integral part of design. The intervention not only resolves a technical issue but also improves the overall experience. Selador thus ensures that the space functions better in its everyday use, maintaining its character intact and enhancing its versatility as a meeting place.
