Architecture and construction are becoming increasingly digital in Spain. Specifically, between 2023 and 2024, there was a 30% increase in the number of projects in the ConTech sector.
Initiatives such as the Construction Tech Startup Forum, part of a benchmark event like REBUILD, highlight this boom, where we can find innovation in data analysis, new materials, and industrialized solutions. In this post we will highlight these three related projects:
Decision-making tool: Materiality AI
Materiality AI is a tool presented at the REBUILD Awards by Modelical and Finsa that transforms decision-making in the initial phase of a project, allowing for an objective and rapid assessment of the sustainability impact and the viability of industrialization.
Through parametric calculations and data analysis, this solution provides investment funds, developers, and architectural professionals with key information for selecting the best construction systems in terms of CO2, cost, and specifications.
A new wood skin: Woodflow-skin
Woodflow-skin is a sustainable, lightweight, high-performance architectural cladding based on optimized biocomposites. It combines parametric design and digital manufacturing to create sustainable, easily transportable facades, achieving shapes never before seen in the wood industry.
Its installation system makes the panels removable and reusable, promoting circular construction and reducing the carbon footprint compared to traditional cladding. This is an innovation developed by Strong by Form, a start-up that has already managed to reduce the carbon footprint of the German railway company’s canopies by 70% with its applications.

The housing intelligence startup: ROOM2030
ROOM2030 redefines modular and industrialized construction from a small town in northern Spain. And as its CEO, Sergio Baragaño, told us, you no longer need to be in Silicon Valley to develop cutting-edge solutions.
After developing its first mass-produced room models, which ensure cost containment and greater sustainability, the startup is scaling up to achieve the first industrialized high-rise buildings for the hotel sector.
